Summer Induction Work 2025

If you are an offer holder for entry to the Cherwell School Sixth Form for September 2025, you will have received information about enrolment.

To help you make a purposeful and prepared start in September, we ask all students to complete compulsory summer work in advance of enrolment on Wednesday 3 September 2025.

The work has been set by your subject teachers and they will collect and review the work in your first lessons. You will be required to have completed it in order to study your chosen subject. For each subject, you’ll be directed to something to read, watch and listen to, then one task to do.

The summer induction work is not designed to test you or to assess your standard of work. Please do not agonise over it, worry about the details or spend hours trying to get everything exactly ‘right’.

Instead, the purpose is:

● To help you confirm that the content of the A Level matches your interests.
● To help you confirm that the style of learning is what you expect.
● To introduce you to the type of independent learning task you will be set at A Level
● To give you time and space to think about some interesting ideas in your subject area!
● To show your teachers that you can follow instructions independently, with motivation.
